5 Dumbass Comments of the Week #10 with Lee Lemon

Join Lee Lemon (@LemonLifts), the Godless Engineer (@godlessengineer), and Aeolus (@GodWorksOut) as they take on the 5 Dumbass Comments of the Week!

At 4:16, a Muslim says that we are lost and rebellious meaning Allah must send us to hell. He ends his comment on an argument from design.

At 23:51, two theists accuse us of taking a specific passage out of context and trying to destroy other people’s spirituality.

At 39:50, a theist finds it funny that we spend so much time on something we don’t believe and asks why do atheists care so much about what other people believe.

At 1:03:45, a Christian declares that Christians are discriminated against, no one discriminates against Muslims, and atheists are all idiots.

At 1:16:35, a theist says that it is stupid that science can’t figure out why cells age and you are going to die, but god has been telling you all along why you are going to die.

Atheists Need to Learn from the LGBT Community

Atheists, get out your pen and paper, and take notes.

The LGBT community has transformed the way people view them and continues to rally support for equal rights. Although there is still much work to be done, I think that the atheist community has a lot to learn from this movement. We need people rallying. We need people coming out. We need parades. We need to change the term “atheist” from a negative to a positive, or at least to a neutral term. How do we go about doing that? We have to consistently show how atheism can be a positive thing. It sounds silly, right? How can the lack of a belief be anything? I am advocating for positive atheism, yet many atheists think that atheism cannot be “positive” or can have no identifiers attached to it. The problem is many people have already attached identifiers to us. They say atheists lack morals, are rebellious, and will destroy our society. If people can attach negative things to a term we use to describe ourselves, why can’t I attach good things to it? In essence, this is what the LGBT community has done and they have been very successful.

At a time when we are divided the most, we need to unite to change the world.

I would really appreciate it if you…

The Quran’s Challenge to Nonbelievers

The Quran issues a challenge to all of humanity, especially nonbelievers, to create a book like the Quran, 10 chapters like it, or 1 chapter like it. It then goes onto say that no matter what you do, you can never create anything like the Quran. Now I could insert a bad joke here about how the Quran is such a terrible book that we wouldn’t want to regress as a society by literally completing this challenge, but I will take it in its intended context. The Quran and people who believe in its divine nature hold that the book itself is a miracle and the actual challenge is to create something better than the Quran itself. I’d argue that this has already been performed by all of the literary greats, but I did it anyway just because I wanted to add my name to the list of people that have done it. I also wanted to specifically say that I completed the challenge. Many people have completed the challenge unaware that they were doing so. I did it knowing that I did it with the intentions of rubbing it in because well, fuck islam.

Here is my chapter that is better than the entire fucking Quran.

*The Aeolian Panacea*

Question everything. Believe nothing and accept things only on evidence. Use Reason and Logic to reach all conclusions. The scientific method is the best tool there is–use it wisely. Value your fellow man above all else. That means no stoning, no beheading, no burning people alive, and especially no honor killing.. Do nothing that will victimize your fellow man. Always try to promote positivity and help others. Recognize your own worth, but do not place it above your fellow man. You will respect and treat all human beings equally at all times no matter what. Do not force any beliefs you have on to anyone else. If you can’t demonstrate it with science, logic, or reason then it isn’t a belief worth having. Religions are forbidden. Worship is forbidden. Anything worthy of worship would never require or demand it. Governments can be corrupted and evil. Therefore, if you must establish governments, they will be run by committees of citizens that are not allowed to have any ties to anyone that may corrupt them, nor can they accept any form of payment for their service. In all things that you do, act for the greater good of all humanity. Finally, just as you value your fellow man, you should value the earth. It is our home, your children’s home, our future, and our legacy.

I would really appreciate it if you…

Hypocrite of the Week #5: Shoot First, Turn the Other Cheek Second

This week’s award for Hypocrite of the Week goes to Evangelist Anita Fuentes for demonstrating scriptural ignorance. She states, “Nowhere in the bible does it say to allow someone to punch you in the face over and over.” She then goes on to show off her pistol and brag about how if you hit her in the face, then she is blasting your ass.

This is the problem with Christians. They really have no idea what the Bible says about anything. You wouldn’t call yourself an astrophysicist if you weren’t one. You wouldn’t call yourself a surgeon if you had not been properly trained in performing surgeries. Stop calling yourself a Christian if you don’t know what that entails, especially if you have no idea what Jesus said or what “Christ-like” means.

3 Step Program & My Psychological Eating Disorder

*Disclaimer*

I am not a professional and I am unable to diagnose you. I cannot give you medical advice. If you are having a problem, please seek help from a licensed expert.

Not only do atheists face social isolation, which can cause psychological and health problems, but they tend to have higher IQs and are more intelligent, making them more susceptible to substance abuse. This can be a huge problem since most of the world tends to be religious and this includes counselors that atheists may go to for help. However, if you are having a problem with substance abuse or mental illness, please do not be afraid to seek help. While you do that I have developed a simple 3-step program that can help in the meantime and I will apply it with a personal anecdote.

  1. Recognize the problem.
  2. Devise a plan to correct or remedy the problem.
  3. Implement and execute the plan.

When I was just 3 months old, my mother abandoned me in a park in the middle of winter. Brrr! From birth until my early teenage years I was subjected to my mother’s mental disabilities, drug addictions, and alcoholism. She always neglected me and when I did receive her attention it was in the form of torture. The worst thing she did to me was probably the starvation. I always had a love for the taste of food and this made the induced malnourishment hell on earth for me. There were times when I was out of school for the summer and she would only feed me bread and water until I went back to school. As a child, I looked forward to school lunches and would often ask other kids in my class for their food.

Much later in life I realized that my eating was getting out of control. I would get very upset over wasted food. Also, I would not stop eating until all the food was gone. Sometimes I would catch myself in the middle of eating while watching tv or reading. It had become such an involuntary action for me and I realized that I had a problem. I devised a plan to start working out to combat my eating habits (when suffering from an addiction it always seems like a good idea to make a sacrifice somewhere else rather than addressing the addiction itself). That worked for a really long time, but the more I worked out—the hungrier I got.

So I ended up using this 3-step program again to solve my eating problem. Instead of conforming my behavior around the disorder, I changed my behavior entirely. I left myself sticky notes everywhere there was food. On my computer. On the tv. I set three alarms on my phone to ring at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was extremely difficult to maintain this strict adherence, but I did and I finally got a handle on my eating problem.

I’m still working on the sex addiction :p

ISIS Murdered Man Over Chocolate Milk

Many may think that chocolate milk is a poor example, however, homosexual behavior that is consensual is harmless to other people. It is a personal choice to engage in the behavior that does not affect anyone else. I will not empower groups like this by giving anyone a reason to think that they have the moral high ground. Therefore, they killed this man over his love for chocolate milk–something out of the ordinary.

I could make a hurtful analogy about homosexuality being consensual while pedophilia is not, but I will leave pedophilia to the Prophet Muhammad. :p

Fuck your religion of peace.

5 Dumbass Comments of the Week #2

Intro Song: Reciprocation

5 Dumbass Comments of the Week #2

If you like this segment, please like and share.

  1. Theist wonders why dinosaurs didn’t eat Adam and Eve (around 1:22 in the video)
  2. Theist who embraces science wants to reconcile quantum theory with the creation story in Genesis (around 2:40 in the video).
  3. Theist thinks that God is the greatest gift from the Bible.(around 4:16 in the video).
  4. Theist does not understand why we can’t use the Bible to prove the Bible is true (around 7:06 in the video).
  5. Theist believes that most scientists are creationists and that evolution is not a fact (around 9:42 in the video).

I don’t particularly like to ridicule people… I can’t even do it without a stiff drink. Okay maybe I can, but it does give me a good reason to consume large amounts of alcohol. The point I am making here is that some people are lost causes and are not willing to be logical or reasonable. These people need to be made into an example because these delusions of grandeur are moving legislators and people of power into making decisions that affect all of us—most of the time in negative ways.

Have you tried reasoning with people with no success? Have you debunked their arguments and they refuse to accept anything other than their own beliefs? Send me a picture of their comment and they may be the next dumbass of the week.

I would really appreciate it if you…
